Here is an update on our last year of travels
(up to December 2007)
We have lived by faith to some extent from year 2000 but the last year has been very radically so. We have been around much of the world with a small back pack and have had no possesions and just waited on the Lord for every move however hard it has been at times!
We left our rented apartment and the few belongings we had there we gave to our son, and left on a plane for Bangkok Thailand where we had very much ministry in different venues there we left on a plane for Melbourne Australia. Again after two weeks and much ministry we took a bus to Sydney and later Brisbane. From there we flew to Taiwan Taipei where we had a great time ministering. We very shortly left for a wonderful church in the heart of Tokyo Japan.
At this time we learned some bad news. Steve's younger brother was killed in a car accident right before his 50th Birthday. We changed our plans for Asia and left for Honolulu Hawaii, and after a few days got on a plane to Santa Barbara California, where we just made it for the funeral of Joe Schneider.
In California where the Lord opened some doors we arranged to go by trian to visit friends in Shreveport Lousiana, and after a lot of ministry there and also in Tyler, Texas we continued by bus to Pensecola, Florida. We had a great visit with special friends there and went by bus to Columbus Ohio, where we comforted Steve's mother and had some open doors to share as well. Eventually we took a train from Cleveland, Ohio towards New York. We had some contacts in New Jersey where we shared and fellowshipped with likeminded people.
We took a plane to Singapore and stayed for ten days. Many divine connections took place there and led to us later returning in September. We knew no one there but the Lord brought us together with a special vicar at the Anglican churh and also with a pastor at the Korean church. We took a plane to Manila, Philipines where we met several servants of the Lord we enjoyed sharing with. After ten days we continued to Hongkong, and stayed with a Korean church where we encoured some of the body to stay strong in their faith!!
We took a plane to Seoul Korea where we had ten busy days with our dear dentist friend Dr Chin J Cha and his family, friends and churches.
From Korea we had a ticket given by the Korean dentist to return to Bangkok Thailand where we had our return ticket to Tel Aviv.
We shared at some of the same places we had visited earlier and then we got back to the land! We stayed in Israel for two months , most of the time house sitting, or in hostel or with friends.
As planned in the spring we returned to Singapore for the feast of Tabernacles. Steve did the worship together with a team and the Lord's presence visited us !!! Some seats had gold dusts on them afterwards. Many people came and learned a lot about Israel and prayed for their salvation. The Israeli ambassador came and later expressed much thanks for a great time!
I want to add that in spite of the great victories during our stay it was also the most disappointing trip ever. I concluded that in spite of it all being very organised with the tickets and all expenses paid etc it was the least fruitful trip we have ever taken. The different church meetings we attended added up to around ten a week. We had been promised a lot of opportunity to minister but it was not to be. Instead we were asked to sit and be ministered to at each of those services. The piano had to be left empty which seems to be a pattern. The more people trust in the so called orginasition the less the Spirit can move and the freedom flies out the window and many a blessing goes unexperienced!!! I have seen it over and over and over and it is happening to date and everywhere we go. We stayed at a hostel a cross the street of the Synagogue in Singapore and joined them for the High Holidays. They had Steve play several times and truly loved it!!! The Rabbi annonced Steve and said: "this man will play and I want to tell you, this year was the first time I fasted in this hot humid weather and it was not easy. I went to the meal at the end of Yom Kippur and got back to life hearing this most amazing jazz".
As we returned to Israel we made plans to "get situated" yet again. It was because we were totally worn out from the time of being asked not to share for the whole month in Singapore. We tried to "move" to Pensecola Florida but the Lord told us to keep going. "Don't sit down and give up, get up and get moving" We again went to Ohio to comfort Steve's mother and got ready to hit the Central American countries. We stayed in Houston TX for a week and had some ministry , more rejections and left on a bus towards Mexico city. We later went by bus through Central America and stayed in Tegucigalpa Honduras for a week and had a lot of ministry at the Calvary Chapel there. We flew to Miami from there and again as we were so exhausted from the treatment of the "Body of Christ" wanted to give up and planned to stay in Miami for several months. We were told by God in the middle of the night not to stay and again "keep going".
Still we got to Ohio and again even tried to sign a contract for an apartment to stay for a year!! It was not meant to be and our journey continued to Phoenix and EL Paso. From there we went back to Pensecola and to Orlando and again Ohio.
We are now going back to Atlanta and staying for a while as the Lord leads and going back to the Holy land on our return ticket sometime in February.
The comments I want to give is first from Acts 14:22 ..."strenghtening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith."We must go through many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God" paul and Barnabas shared and went all around and the Lord blessed.
I also want to add from 2Tim 4:5 "But you keep your head in all situations, endure hardship!!!!! " We are enduring hardship of all kinds and that is just the fact of life, however His glory is truly following us and we are all His glory bearers!!!
To Him be the glory for ever and ever. God bless us all.
Love Steve and Kerstin Schnedier
